i Didn’t Have an iPod Growing Up and i Never Got Over It

Fused Glass, Glass Paint, Magnets, on Wood and Zinc Panel, 24 x 48 x 1.5 in

i Didn’t Have an iPod Growing Up and i Never Got Over It started from a personal longing for a technology I never owned or had access to. The work features replicas of every type of iPod ever released, capturing the essence of these iconic devices without them being ‘real.’ Through these replicas, I aim to connect the unattainable and the imagined experience of ownership. The piece explores the knockoff market and culture, examining how counterfeits fulfill desires while navigating the constraints of limited access and economic barriers. During the show run, the individual iPods were available for purchase.
