Cosmology of a Brown Sky
Stained glass, solder, lead, chain, house paint, 13 x 20 x 10 ft space
Cosmology of a Brown Sky spans three walls, combining stained glass details with metal chain drawings. The hands depicted belong to unique goddesses, each intervening in a brown skyscape. Passing clouds evoke eternal ’90s portraits, inspired by family photos. The goddesses embody love, hate, play, culture, and celestial forces like the sun and moon, their presence shaping the skies over Los Angeles as tears fall, attempting to bring rain. This piece envisions a reimagined brown sci-fi aesthetic, exploring the possibilities of a new cultural mythology.
